Yonathan is a part of trumpeter Avishai Cohen’s quartet and appears on his last 2 ECM releases.
His new album «Joys and Solitudes » was recently released on ECM Records.
His 2 lasts albums, «Modern Times Trio » and «The Parade», were acclaimed by both audiences and critics. Yonathan was elected in 2017 as «Révélation française de l’année» in Jazz Magazine.
Inspired by artists such as Louis Armstrong, John Lewis, Art ensemble of Chicago and Mark Rothko, Yonathan creates an emotional and colorful poetic world. He strives to deepen the dimension of his music, packing each note with a dramatic charge. It is through an economy of means and experimenting with cycles that this music takes form. In his music minimalism is a mean of observing movement and attaining the essential, the poetry.
